Pharmedic Patient Sample Pickup Scheduling Request

The Pharmedic genetic Kit reveals the safest and most suitable medications for your body. By reducing drug interactions and eliminating trial-and-error prescribing, Pharmedic integrates genetic insights into personalized, data-driven patient care.
What is Pharmacogenomic (PGx) Testing?

Pharmacogenomics is the science that studies how a person’s genes affect the way their body responds to medicines. Pharmacogenomic testing examines germline variants in drug-metabolising enzymes, transporters, and drug targets to predict medication metabolism phenotypes and generate evidence-based prescribing recommendations.

Everyone’s DNA is slightly different, and these differences can influence:

• How quickly or slowly your body breaks down a drug.
• How effective a medication will be for you.
• Whether you might experience side effects or even serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
Why It Matters

Traditional prescribing is often based on a “one-size-fits-all” prescirbing and dosing approach, but patients can response is significantly variable to the same treatment plan. For instance, one person might feel no effect, another might get the right response, and someone else might develop strong side effects, all on the same dose. PGx testing helps doctors move away from trial-and-error prescribing.

How the Test Works
1. Order & Delivery of the Kit
• Once you request the test, a Pharmedic genetic screening kit will be sent directly to your home or clinic.
• Delivery is arranged through our approved courier partners, and you will receive a tracking link to know exactly when your kit will arrive.

2. Sample Collection Options

• At-home saliva collection: You can easily provide a saliva sample using the saliva collection tubes by following the kit instructions provided.
• Blood collection service: If you prefer blood, our licensed nurses can visit your home at the convenience of your schedule to collect the sample safely and conveniently.

3. Secure Laboratory Processing

• Your sample is transported by our partnered courier to our DHA-approved, ISO-accredited laboratory in Dubai.
• The laboratory performs whole exome sequencing (WES) genetic testing, including sequencing and genotyping, using internationally validated technologies.

4. Analysis Based on Your Add-Ons

• Depending on the package or add-ons you choose (e.g., Cardiovascular drugs, Diabetes, Child Development), the lab screens specific sets of genes related to how your body responds to those medications.
• This makes the test customized to your health needs, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

5. Report Generation & Delivery

• Once analysis is complete, a personalized pharmacogenomic report is generated.
• The report includes:
• Which medicines may work best for you
• Which drugs may cause side effects or reduced effect
• Safe dosing recommendations where applicable
• Reports are securely shared with you and your physician through our protected digital platform.

What Happens Next

You and your doctor can use the report to guide prescription decisions and avoid trial-and-error treatments
What You Gain
• Your doctor can choose the right medication and dose from the start.
• It helps reduce side effects and avoid dangerous drug reactions.
• It provides a lifetime record, since your DNA doesn’t change, meaning your results can guide future treatments throughout your life.
